Dr. Ellada Papadogeorgou is head of the Hand/Upper Extremity & Microsurgery department of the European Interbalkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki, Greece, that was accredited as a FESSH Hand Trauma and Replantation Center in 2019. Her experience embraces the management of hand trauma, hand and upper extremity reconstruction and all the pathological conditions within the spectrum of hand and upper extremity surgery. She has a special interest in congenital hand differences and her MD thesis was on a relevant subject (“Hypoplasia and Aplasia of the Thumb: Classification and Clinical Evaluation of Treatment Choices.”)

Dr Papadogeorgou is a former Consultant in Hand Surgery of the 3^rd Department of Orthopedics of the University of Athens, Greece in KAT Trauma Hospital. She completed a clinical fellowship in hand surgery in Paris, France at the Institut de la Main, Clinique Jouvenet and at Urgences Mains de l Est Parisien, Clinique la Francilienne, Pontault-Combault. She obtained the FESSH diploma in Hand Surgery in 2009 (EBHS). Currently she is also attached to the 1^st Orthopedic dpt of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School with an educational role.

Dr Papadogeorgou has attended numerous educational conferences, seminars and workshops as a trainer and has presented many scientific papers and presentations in scientific congresses as a guest speaker. She also edited, authored and translated in Greek medical books and chapters related to hand surgery.

She is a member of the administrative board of the Hellenic Society for Hand Surgery and the Hellenic Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery for many years now. She has also served as President of the Hellenic Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery in 2022.

Since 2023, dr Papadogeorgou is a member of the examination committee of the FESSH and serves as an examiner for the prestigious EBHS (European Board in Hand Surgery) diploma.
